November 09 2011

Good day all,

Welcome to SDJ Photography's website, so glad you could drop in.

Let me tell you a little something about myself, my name is Shawn Des Jardins I am living in Toronto but was born in New Westminster BC. I left BC in '97 and moved to Saskatoon for 6 Mos. (during the winter). That was short lived as it was WAY too cold for me. I then moved to Calgary and worked at North Hill News, a newspaper printing company. I lasted a year in good ol' Cow Town as there was not enough excitement there for me.

When I left Calgary I moved here to Ontario, having a brother in Hamilton, I managed to live there for 10 yrs. WOW!

I moved to Toronto two years ago continuing my former profession as a chef, but after the decline of the economy I was out of a job and it was not looking good. However I had always been into photography since I was 15, and I so do love it.  One day I was sitting down with an employment counselor and we had decided that it would be a great thing for me if I actually made my hobby a business.  So for the last 10 weeks I have been taking a class on putting a business plan together and have finally finished it. I am on day 3 of my new company and am loving every minute of it. I wake up looking forward to all the hard work I have ahead of me.

So feel free to come back any time or follow me on twitter @photographySDJ

Would like to give a big THANK YOU to Carla for all her support for the last 10 weeks and the weeks to come.
